PA Workers Comp For Scar Injuries

Injured workers in Pennsylvania can collect workers comp payments for a scar. The general "rule" is that an injured worker can collect several weeks of workers comp payments for every one inch of scar. A scar payment can not exceed the maximum limit of 275 weeks.

Pennsylvania workers comp will pay for a scar if the scar:

  • is located on the head, face, or neck
  • is the result of a work-related injury, including burns
  • is the result of surgery necessary to treat the work-related injury

Did you know...?
You don't have to miss work to receive a workers comp payment for a scar injury. You can receive a payment for your scar injury even if you returned to work after your injury or if you never missed a single day of work.

You have 3 years from the date of the injury to claim a workers comp scar injury payment. Many injured workers don't know they can receive money for their scar so they don't ask for it when they first request worker's comp for their injury.

The good news
If your original workers comp claim was properly filed within the 3-year time period, you can still go back and request payment for your scar. Payment for a scar is in addition to any other workers comp payments.
